OBJECTIVE:
DEVELOP A BRAND IDENTITY & 3 LABELS FOR A FICTIOUS CRAFT BEER BREWERY
DETAILS: This project was conducted over my studies. I began the project with thorough market and consumer research. This involved tasting six different Ontario craft beers and closely examining their labels to understand the diverse styles in the industry. I then looked into the preferences of craft beer consumers, discovering their preference for supporting local businesses, their love for experimental flavors, and their alignment with “hipster” culture and counter-culture themes.
Drawing from my personal interest with medieval and religious art, I explored themes for the beer labels. I uncovered intriguing connections between beer production and the Catholic church, as well as the rich iconography of medieval Catholicism. Using design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Procreate, I illustrated religious and religious-inspired figures, and selected colors commonly utilized within medieval art due to the materials historically available at the time.
